I am excited to announce that I have signed up as a runner in the New York City Marathon to support the Dup15q Alliance! The Dup15q Alliance's mission is to provide family support and promote awareness, research, and targeted treatments for Dup15q Syndrome.
Dup15q is characterized by having an extra copy of a portion of chromosome 15 in combination with a number of symptoms that may include hypotonia, epilepsy, cognitive delay, motor delays, autism, and similar facial features. Dup15 is rare!
I will be taking on 26.2 miles of New York City streets on November 6th in honor of my niece Riley. This opportunity is a present that only she could give to me. I genuinely feel that Riley has given me the gift of personal growth that I never thought possible. Join me in her honor and in supporting real change. Let's support good in the world and make a difference.
