Let's help raise awareness and financial support for The Dup15q Alliance! Dup15q Alliance provides family support and promotes awareness, research and targeted treatments for chromosome 15q11.2-13.1 duplication syndrome.

For those that do not know, Finlay has Dup15q which is a duplication of chromosome 15q11.2-13.1. Finlay's family learned this after years of dealing with developmental delay and an a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). When Finlay was 6 months old, it became apparent that he was not reaching his milestones, as he could not hold his head up. After an evaluation with Early Intervention, Finlay began physical therapy which continues to this day. It was a long road of unknowns trying to get answers but finally when he was approved for genetic testing, the family learned of his Dup15q diagnosis. Immediately, the Dup15q Alliance stepped in and connected his family with resources, webinars, doctors and families who are also dealing with Dup15q.

Finlay has fine and gross motor delay, speech/language delay, Autism, Anxiety and cognitive delay. Although there is no current treatment that can undo his genetic pattern, Finlay receives physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech along with accommodations in school.
