February 28th is the designated "Rare Disease Awareness Day" across the world. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives. The campaign targets primarily the general public and also seeks to raise awareness amongst policy makers, public authorities, industry representatives, researchers, health professionals and anyone who has a genuine interest in rare disease.
You can take the awareness to the next level by hosting a "dress down day" at your office. Everyone who wears a rare disease day t-shirt or makes a donation can wear jeans on Feb. 28th to expand the sea of blue. Suggested donation is $10.
